Oh BOY what a Baby Shower

Twas the Night before the Big Reveal

Well here it is, the day before the shower.  I'm so over this thing it's not even funny.  It's like way over due now especially with the amount of planning and executing that's been put into motion over the last several weeks.  What I find so mind boggling is that I've been buying this weeks before, like no joke.  And it seems as if all this week, I'm STILL buying things.  I'm looking forward to entertaining my guest though, which is exciting.  I've been to a slew of baby showers, baby parties, baby mama parties, anniversaries but it's never been a function for myself so I'm pretty excited and overwhelmed at the same time.  My sisters hous is going to be FULL to capacity and I know she's going to kill me for that.  Anywho, baby is growing and moving up a storm.  Time is going by so fast I don't know what to do.  This is my last week in the second trimester.....what!  What do you mean?  I just found out, then I'm just finding out the sex tomorrow then i'm told on my 26 week appt this week that I have 13 more weeks to go.  Does this make sense to anyone? 
With Gabrielle, full time work and school I honestly cant keep up. Time is moving so quickly, I cant keep up with myself.

I figured after this week, I may be able to slow down.  I have three more weeks of school left, haven't been invited to any parties or showers for the month of April of May and I will know what the sex is tomorrow.  But then I thought to myself are you kidding me, I'm going to shop every minute I have free now because I know it's a boy or girl...........and summer wear is out, OMG.  It's been ruff though really.  Roger and I cross eachothers paths briefly when we get home and then we're both pooped when we get in bed.  Monday, Wednesday is him gym night, Tue and Thur I'm at school, Friday I'm at someones house and Saturday on the streets with my sister, Sunday in church.  I have a headace just thinking about it.  I long for the day to come home and sit on the coach and do nothing all day long. 





Anywho, I passed my glucose test.  My nerves were shot because I get the results first at the office.  Like literally results come to my printer and being a patient at my very own office I see them first.  So waiting for mines to print, although I had access to them ASAP, I had to comply because I felt like they're watching, I decided to wait and they came the next freaking day.  So I came in the next morning and flew to my office and surfed through the mounds of paper and boom, good to go.  No three hour glucose for the lady.  My weight is still rising, I personally think it's just in my belly because I'm still skinny as a rail.  But all is well, doc said things look good and me and baby are healthy all the way around. 



So, yes tonight is the night before the reveal.  Will I be able to sleep?  My neices and me are going to decorate tonight and not wait til the day off. Pictures to follow ASAP



Baby Shower on the Way!

This is the moment I have to look forward to in order to find out what's moving around in there.  When I say moving around, I really mean moving around.  It's going to be pretty gnarly when the bones are real hard and you can see it move across my belly, especially if he/she doesn't slow down on their movements.  Everythings been pretty good this week besides Gabrielle wearing me OUT.  We took her to the circus and she was mesmerized for about an hour and some change, after that she was in her own world.  She loved the elephants and the horses. She was weirded out by the cotton candy texture and the clowns she looked at them as if something smelled in the air; how embarrassing.  I will post pics soon.  As for now, we're ordering invites.  We're giving the envelope away this weekend to our friends who will be baking the cake.  We're all so excited.  I for one need to get this thing out of my house or I'm going to break.  She's got some ideas for the cake and so do I.  I told them as long as the inside is blue, I really didn't care what it looked like. 

Here's a team blue team pink that I adore.  I've also found some cute ideas for my dessert buffet which will be adorned in both pink snacks and blue ones with the cake being the main center of attention.  I've gathered some boxes that I will gift wrap w/ pink and blue wrapping paper for my dimensions and lots of vases.

I've done the dipped chocolate marshmallows for Gabrielle and they were a big hit.  I just need to use wax paper for the drying next time. Our date is SET for real this time April 6th.  Who was I kidding trying to wait until May. 

It's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

It's aaaaaaaaaaaaa SHAME that I get my scan today and still wont know until April 6 at the baby shower, lol.  Thought I was gonna tell you huh, that was funny.  No seriously this is torture, who came up with this brilliant idea...........me I guess. Well my appointment is at 12:45 and Roger is going to walk over from the hospital.  He's also leaving with the MERCH (the sealed envelope).  Is he trying to say he doesn't trust me? 

It's going to be a packed fun day of excitement.  I have a surprise for Gabrielle and Roger. After work, Roger thought we were just celebrating our midweek ritual of fast food at the pizza parlor up the block from the job after work.  I've been telling him this for over a month now and it was really because we need to stick around after work to head over to the PNC arena for the Ringling Brothers Circus.  He had no idea until this morning.  I remembered a previous place I took him for a surprise to the Mike Epps show and he was excited but PISSED at his normal attire.  I've learned my lesson and showed him the tickets this morning and he beamed.  He was thrilled as the last time he's been to a circus was around 5 years old in Trinidad. He was even more excited to know that he needed to wear something other than a shirt and jeans. 

 

I truly excited to see Gabrielle's reaction to all the animals, stunts and lights, cotton candy you name it.  I have a set budget of skies the limit! Long are the good ole days when my dad, or sister or mom took me to the circus, Big Top Apple I remember because it was in Time Square.  They brought me everything my hands could carry.  I guess it's a good thing Gabrielle's hands are SMALL, ha. The whole clan are is going, seats 1-9 here we come. 

Scan is later this afternoon, stay tuned.

I'mmmmmmmmm baaaaaaackkkkkk.  Well, scan is complete and our baby is a kicking, all four chambers of the heart, diaphram in tact, spinal cord just great, kidneys, you name it, it's got it.  Thank God.  What I dont know is if it's a boy or girl.  The baby moved around alot but kept its face down.  Roger enjoyed everything and so did I, here's a little pick of the baby and big sis.

Breakfast at Gabrielle's

Pineapple Peach Upside Down Cake **

1 Box of Yellow Cake Mix
1 Can of Pineapple Slices
1 Can of Peaches
Dark Brown Sugar
Marshiano Cherries if desired in the middle of pineapple slices.

Make a bed of brown sugar on 10x13 cake/baking pan.  Try to pat/air dry pineapples and peaches before laying them over brown sugar.  Prepare cake mix as directed, eat bater first for fun, then pour over prepared bed of brown sugar/peaches/pineapples.  Bake at 375 for 40 minutes, boom, bang pow.  Oh, when cake is done, flip cake pan OVER onto a flat plat.   Someone asked to put stars by each receipie so I've given this one 2 stars.

Baby Shower Ideas!

Well, in exactly four more weeks, Roger and I have an appointment for the anatomy scan during my lunch break (thank God I don't have to clock out, sorry Rog).  I've forewarned my co-workers not to be at the door listening for any information that I myself wont even know.  Either sonographer will put the info in different envelopes, one for me and the other for the cake baker, (fingers crossed for blue icing please).  Today was the beginning of school for Spring semester and I've been waiting on the schedules to see when the last class assignment is due in May.  May we intended for the baby shower to be that month and it looks like we may have a set date.  It seems so far away, but it gives me time to think about decor, food (thanks for letting me host at  your pad Shawn) etc.  We at first opted to have it at a center, but I cant' really personalize it like I want to.  I'm in the process of looking for a great price on boxes of pink and blue leis that the guest will wear to choose the sex of the baby that they think it is, just for fun.

Here are some ideas I have for the shower.  Okay, this is all I can post for now, my meatballs are burning!!!
